Seen Strangely Through Glass, Photo Merger

Last week I had the opportunity of choosing one of my fellow classmates creative brief and merging it together with mine. I was a little worried about having to find a connection between my own work and others. While searching through the different blogs I stumbled across Carlotta´s work. Her photo displayed a distorted visual effect, she used glass cups and water. The image shows a distorted eye. As soon as I saw this I thought about my own work and about the character in the piece of art I photographed - who is doomed to observe the creation done by the people around it.

I used Photoshop in the editing process. I tripled Carlotta´s image and blended it to the background. The eyes in the cup have a sort of petrified look, almost as if the fear is inevitable. They are all looking at the same direction. There is something there, and there nothing they could do about it. The green textured background creates a more organic merge between both photos. The green character, which lays in the background, is also visible. Both pictures have different feelings even though they are doing the same action, seeing strangely through glass. The cups of water portray desperation when the green character portrays hopelessness.
