Road Poem #20

I remember when I first used audacity I had so much fun doing it. In this recording I read a poem from “God I feel modern tonight, poems from a gal about town” by Catherine Cohen. The poem is called “Road Poem #20.” She talks about her experience into adulthood and everything she is thinking about. I really like her work as I can relate to it. Moving alone has been a great shock for me. It is still an experience that I wouldn’t change for anything. The background music is a song that I found in a royalty free website. The song is called “Sailing away” by Shane Ivers. The river sounds, I recorded them from the river that is across my flat. The sad melody and the river sounds give a calming effect. The reason why I choose that song was because I wanted the listeners to know that adulting is hard and sad but is still something you must do. It is okay to change, it is also okay to be scared and feel sad. I used audacity to edit this sound, I am still struggling with the ending part as I can’t smooth it out. It was easy to blend the sounds together and working with the volume so they can all fit together.
